Design, Mazda CX-5 introduces a new line, something new like soul. On a small number of images available, there are an aggressive front grill and huge headlights, blended with fluid lines, which extend to the seductive “buttocks”. The design is not worth discussing, because it is a very subjective thing, however, apparent is a significant shift from previous models of Mazda.
Perhaps the most interesting detail in the model CX-5 is the implementation of SKYACTIV technology. Actually, this is Mazda’s first model with this technology, and it is expected that all future models out of the house just to wear the label SKYACTIV. What does it mean? New SKYACTIV aggregates, two-liter gasoline and 2.2 liter diesel, are characterized by significantly increased or reduced by compression, which led to the growth of torque and appreciably drop in consumption. Also, SKYACTIV technology refers to the improved manual and automatic transmission, body and chassis.
The two-liter petrol engine has a compression ratio of 14:1, which is, say, more than a Formula 1 car! With such high compression, the engine has 165 hp and 190 Nm of torque. Of course, consumption is much lower than in a conventional atmospheric two liter. So Kyoshi Fujiwara, one of the leaders in the Mazda, said the CX-5 with a two-liter petrol engine will be a better choice of example. Volkswagen Tiguan 1.4 TSI. A very bold statement, but only time will tell whether the SKYACTIV technology really so innovative, and it is a marketing trick.
Diesel engine, 2.2 liter, the same compression ratio as gasoline, will come in two versions. Somewhat less and cost, has 150 horsepower and boasts an average fuel consumption of just 4.5 liters! Emissions for this engine is 120 g / km, the car weighs about 1400 kg and 4.5 meters long, close, very little. More powerful diesel has 175 hp.
